CXCVIII

Truisms from poet Nayirrah Waheed -

Love does not ask you to be nothing for something

Remaining soft in fire takes time

Kindness is a form of intelligence

I wake to you everywhere yet you are not here

There is no healthier drug than creativity

The thing you are most afraid to write
Write that

CXCIII

"Religious faith isn’t, at its core, belief in this or that. Perhaps that is the third or fourth generation descendant of this faith. But religious faith is trust in life, trust in that mystery that life is, that goes beyond the beyond."
- David Steindl-Rast

"The spiritual life takes place between the difficult and the impossible"
- Rabbi Shai

XCII

A lifetime is barely enough.
And yet it’s all we’ve got.
There’s no countdown clock for life – I like that.
What good would it do if there were?
Who would want to run faster, and know better, and feel more than you should?
I run pretty fast as it is.
There are things I don’t know and they teach me something. Another kind of knowing.
Don’t get me started on feelings.

Life is precious, yes.
Life is mysterious, yes.
Unpredictable, yes. Painful, yes. Heady, yes.
A lifetime is barely enough. But it’s all we’ve got.

Be happy with your lot. And live your life.
